Product value trumped actual prices which benefited the entire category with regard to value development in 2016.

COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE Fossil (Europe) GmbH benefited once again from its high level of brand and product diversity within watches in 2015. The company positions itself in various watch categories across several different price brackets and levels of product exclusivity. In 2015 its watch value sales grew by 4% and it maintained its leading position with a 30% value share. The growth was mainly driven by strong premium brands like Michael Kors, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Skagen.

PROSPECTS Opposing trends within watches in Germany are expected to result in a flat value CAGR at constant 2016 prices over the forecast period. Demand in high priced watches is expected to continue between 2016 and 2021.
